Briefly

We designed a spectacular installation that combines science and ecology for the CO2 killers project.

event, installation, art object
The CO2 Killers event took place as part of the Science Bar Hopping science festival. Our task was to design an interactive street art piece that would explore the potential of humans to influence CO2 emissions.

1. Process

Before starting the design, we conducted an analytical study and proposed four visual directions. Neon was chosen as the stylistic theme, based on which several art pieces were proposed. CO2 killers was the approved option: the interactive interaction between people and the exhibit will convey the idea of the importance of human action. This concept involves the movement of a wind turbine driven by bicycle pedaling. The bicycles are equipped with speed sensors. Depending on pedal speed, LED strips on the mast fill with light from the bottom up. When the light from the fastest rider reaches the nacelle, the propeller blades are colored according to their pedaling speed and begin to rotate.
